About Us

PhilHealth Portal is an independent information resource dedicated to making PhilHealth (Philippine Health Insurance Corporation) simpler and more accessible to Filipinos. We exist because navigating PhilHealth requirements, registration, and benefits shouldn’t feel like solving a puzzle.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide clear, accurate, and practical information about PhilHealth — from how to register as a new member, to understanding your contribution requirements, to finding the nearest PhilHealth office. We believe that when people understand how PhilHealth works, they can access their healthcare benefits faster and avoid unnecessary trips, delays, and frustration.

We focus on the questions we hear most often: What documents do I need? Which office handles my transaction? How much do I contribute? Can I do this online? What’s the fastest way to get my ID? These are the gaps we fill.

What We Cover

PhilHealth Portal publishes detailed, step-by-step resources on:

  • PhilHealth registration and membership requirements by category (employed, self-employed, OFWs, senior citizens, and more)
  • How to apply for your PhilHealth ID and Member Data Record (MDR)
  • Understanding PhilHealth contributions — rates, tables, and how to pay
  • Employer responsibilities and how to register as a PhilHealth employer
  • Finding the right PhilHealth office and what to bring before you visit
  • Online registration, appointment booking, and payment options
  • Understanding your eligibility, benefits, and coverage

Every article is written with one goal: to save you time and confusion. We break down complex policies into plain language, provide tables and checklists instead of walls of text, and focus on what you actually need to know rather than everything that could be said.

How We Research

Our content is based on official PhilHealth policies, regulatory guidance, and real-world experience helping people navigate the system. Before we publish anything, we verify the information against:

  • Official PhilHealth website and circulars
  • PhilHealth rulebooks and implementing guidelines
  • Current 2026 requirements and deadlines
  • Feedback from actual users who have gone through these processes

We update our articles as rules change. When PhilHealth updates a contribution rate, launches a new program, or changes a procedure, we update our pages to reflect that.

Who We Are

PhilHealth Portal is built and maintained by a team of writers, researchers, and healthcare access advocates who work in and around the Philippine health system. We have experience with PhilHealth both as members and in supporting others through registration, claims, and updates. We see the confusion firsthand, and we built this site to make it disappear.

We are not doctors, not affiliated with PhilHealth, and not providing medical advice. We are practical information specialists focused on the administrative and transactional side of healthcare access in the Philippines.

What Sets Us Apart

We speak Filipino reality. Our content acknowledges that not everyone has a stable email, perfect documents, or time to wait in long lines. We tell you what should happen in theory, and what actually happens in practice. We include tips from people who’ve been through these processes.

We stay focused. We don’t try to explain medicine, hospital choice, or benefit details that belong in official PhilHealth materials. We stick to the “how do I register” and “what do I need” questions that actually block people from accessing their coverage.

We use tables, not walls of text. Requirements are in tables. Contribution rates are in tables. Office locations are in tables. We believe you should be able to scan and find what you need in under a minute.

We’re honest about gaps. When PhilHealth doesn’t have a clear answer to something, we tell you. When policies contradict each other, we flag it. When something might go wrong, we prepare you for it.

Why This Site Exists

We built PhilHealth Portal because we watched people spend hours searching for answers that should be simple. A new employee doesn’t know if their employer is registering them or if they need to do it themselves. A self-employed person doesn’t know if they qualify for voluntary membership. An OFW going overseas doesn’t know which documents to bring to keep their coverage active. Someone who lost their ID doesn’t know where to go or what to bring.

These are solvable problems with clear answers. But those answers are scattered across different PhilHealth pages, hidden in long government documents, or locked behind confusing jargon. We collect them all in one place, explain them in plain language, and organize them so you can find what you need in minutes instead of hours.

Every article we write is an answer to a real question someone searched for. Every table is built because someone said “I just want a simple list.” Every checklist exists because someone walked into a branch unprepared and wasted the whole day.
